Durable Water repellency ，refers to the hydrophobic compound deposited on the surface of the fiber，the fabric surface left pores，air and water vapor can also pass through. When encountering water，water drops will be formed on the cloth surface (like lotus leaves)，which is often referred to as the "lotus leaf effect". It is not really waterproof，but rather reduces the amount of water that is attached to the fabric，allowing it to be "pushed away" across the surface. Durable Water repellency most of the time depends on repellency coatings，which make the tension on the surface of cloth less than the cohesion of Water，so droplets will disappear when they fall behind，rather than spreading and soaking. It has better air permeability and comfort than a waterproof finish.
